What is the difference between EDG and PSG?

Both EDG and PSG are solutions grants provided by Enterprise Singapore to support local SMEs to increase productivity in different ways. 

EDG Grant is suitable for companies that require customised solutions that help you upgrade your business, innovate or venture overseas. 

PSG, on the other hand, is suitable for companies keen to kick-start their technology journey by taking simple steps to automate existing processes and improve productivity.

What is inclusive in the consultancy work? Is it complimentary?

✅ Complimentary paperwork preparation prior to application, during the project, and claims application.

Eligibility 

Who can apply for EDG?

✅ Be registered and operating in Singapore

✅ Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding

✅ Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project

✅ Company’s Group Annual Sales Turnover of not more than S$100 million, or Company’s Group Employment Size of not more than 200 workers

Who does not qualify for Grant support?

The following entities do not qualify for grant support:

❌ Charities, Institutions of Public Characters (IPCs)

❌ Religious Entities

❌ Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO)

❌ Government agencies and subsidiaries

My company is a start-up (less than 2 years), am I eligible to apply for the EDG Grant?

We recommend companies that have incorporated for more than 2 years apply for EDG Grant.

Are “Sole Proprietors” eligible for the grant?

Yes! Sole Proprietors are eligible for both EDG and PSG applications.

Application

How long does an application take to process?

Applications can take between 4 weeks to 16 weeks for processing, starting from the submission date. During this period, an officer from ESG will be attached to your application, and they may contact you with questions regarding the application.

How long does a project take?

A project can last between 3 months to 9 months, depending on the scope of work required.

How many applications can we put in for EDG?

It will depend on the scope of work and project size.

What are the documents required for application?

EDG: Client’s Business Proposal, Financial Statements (“FS”), CPF Contribution Statements, Quotation, ACRA Bizfile (within 6 months), Consultant’s Certification

How do I know if my application has been approved?

Upon approval, you will receive a Letter of Offer. If the application has been rejected, the ESG officer will inform you via email.

Payment

How much grant support can I receive? Is there a cap on funding?

As announced at Budget 2021, the enhanced maximum support level of up to 80% will be extended from 30 September 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Does the Grant cover GST?

No. Clients will have to pay for GST and it will not be funded by government grants.

When do we start to make payment?

Payment for projects should be made only after application and during the qualifying period.

Do we have to make full payment for the projects?

No. Projects with Q-Zone Tech are based on milestone payment as stated in the proposal. Do contact us to find out on payment for projects. 

When will we get the claims back?

The claims can only be submitted after the completion of the project. 

After submission of claims request, the ESG officer attached will check for fulfilment based on the Letter of Offer, and an external auditor (separate payment but claimable) will verify all transactions made. 

This whole process will take between 4 weeks – 8 weeks.

Eligibility

Who can apply for PSG?

✅ Business entity that is registered/incorporated in Singapore

✅ At least 30% local shareholding

✅ Company’s Group Annual Sales Turnover of not more than S$100 million, or Company’s Group Employment Size of not more than 200 workers

✅ Purchase/lease/subscription of the Equipment or IT Solution must be used in Singapore

Important: The company must not have:

  1. Made any payment to a supplier, vendor or third party in relation to the purchase/lease/subscription of the IT solution or equipment
  2. Signed any contract with a supplier, vendor or third party in relation to the purchase/lease/subscription of the IT solution or equipment

Otherwise, the application will be rejected

Who does not qualify for Grant support?

The following entities do not qualify for grant support:

❌ Religious Entities

❌ Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO)

My company is a start-up (less than 2 years), am I eligible to apply for the EDG Grant?

Yes. PSG is suitable for all local SMEs.

Application

Do we need a certified consultant to apply for PSG?

No. Solutions and Equipment that are supported by PSG are pre-approved, and will not require a certified consultant’s certification.

How long does an application take to process?

Applications can take between 4 weeks to 16 weeks for the processing period, starting from the submission date. During this period, an officer from ESG will be attached to your application, and they may contact you with questions regarding the application.

How many applications can we put in for PSG?

Companies can put in more than one PSG application depending on business needs. However, support can only be extended for one package per solution category per deployment location.

Supportable applications are:

  • The purchase of one unit of either an equipment/IT solution per deployment;
  • The subsequent purchase of the IT solution to be deployed at a different location

This means that if the Applicant applies subsequently (i.e. after the first application) for the same IT solution to be deployed at the same location, this application will be rejected.

Please note that for the Remote Working Solution categories (“Online Collaboration Tools” and “Virtual Meeting Tools”), each business entity may only be supported for one application per category.

What are the documents required for application?

Financial Statements and Selected Vendor’s Proposal.

How do I know if my application has been approved?

Upon approval, you will receive a Letter of Offer. If the application has been rejected, the ESG officer will inform you via email.

The grant support level for EDG and PSG will drop to 50% w.e.f. 1 April 2023.
